R&D Chemist

This role sits at the front of the pipeline: feasibility studies, route scouting, and molecule design for client innovation programmes. It suits someone who enjoys the part of the work where the answer is not yet known.

What you'll do

• Scout candidate routes from the literature and judge which are practical rather than merely published
• Run small-scale trials that test the largest unknown first, so a route that will fail fails early
• Assess feasibility against real constraints: reagent availability, equipment fit, and cost at the volume the client actually needs
• Hand promising routes to the scale-up team with enough documentation that nothing has to be rediscovered

What we're looking for

• M.Sc. in Chemistry
• Exposure to literature-based route development
• Detail-oriented lab documentation practices
